Google is reported to be considering prototypes for a planned Nexus 5 smartphone.
The web search leviathan has already enjoyed major success with its Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablets, and now Android And Me website has obtained what it claims is concept artwork for the phone handset, which will be created by LG.
Apparently codenamed Megalodon, the device is claimed to feature a 5.2-inch 1920x1080 OLED display and be powered by 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 - with 3GB of RAM.
It also apparently has a 16-megapixel rear camera from OmniVision, with a 2.1-megapixel camera mounted on the front of the device.
The handset spec also mentions a 3300 mAh lithium polymer battery and it will incorporate speakers for stereo sound.
No launch date has been mooted and no official announcement has been made, but Google was expected to update its phone and tablet offerings this year when the next version of Android is unveiled.
The firm is also bringing the innovative Google Glass to market this year.
