Gionee has launched a budget smartphone in India for Rs. 4,999. The device runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and has a 3.5-inch display.

Christened as the P1, the device shows off a 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display. A 1GHz Cortex A9 processor along with 256MB of RAM power the device. It has a mere 512MB of built-in storage expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. The rear of the budget smartphone houses a 2MP camera and the front has a VGA camera for video calling. A 1500mAh battery powers the P1. It also supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The budget smartphone also boasts of dual-SIM capabilities.
The Gionee P1 is available only in black as of now. In the box, users will get a 4GB microSD card along with 2 phone cases. A screen protection film is also given in the box to users to protect the display from scratches.
