Samsung Galaxy S2 owners on Three can now update their phones to Android 4.2 (AKA Jelly Bean), bringing some sweet new features to the ageing handset.
A post on the @ThreeUK Twitter account confirmed the latest version of Android is available for the S2 via Samsung’s Kies download solution. It’s not clear if an over-the-air update will be available at a later date, but we’ve approached Three to find out.
The update bring with it the array of performance enhancements that go under the silky-sounding moniker Project Butter and the Google Now digital assistant in all its card-based, voice activated helpfulness.
Smart Stay, which debuted on the S3 and the then-nascent Nature UX user interface, is also coming to its predecessor.
This uses a phone's front-facing camera and motion tracking technology to detect owners eye movements and determine more accurately whether the handset is in use.
